Director of Human Resources

The Human Resource Director is the top human resource position in the company, reporting to the President and serving as a member of the executive team.  He/she is responsible for all HR functions within the company including, but not limited to, employment, benefits, compensation, payroll, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, affirmative action, training, recruitment and identifying/complying with legal and government reporting requirements.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Serves as a key member of the management team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
  • Assures that department achieves objectives and project completion to support the company’s strategic direction.
  • Oversees the payroll and benefit administration process.
  • Assures legal compliance with laws, regulations, and government reporting requirements associated with all employment, benefits, compensation, staffing, and safety processes.
  • Counsels management and employees on talent development and employee relations issues.
  • Guides executive management in developing a succession management and employee development plan.

 

Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Human Resource Management. Advance degree preferred. SPHR or PHR, required.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of general human resource experience, including management experience and payroll and benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of current laws and regulations related to payroll, benefits, and employment matters.
  • Strong demonstrated written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
  • Creative thinker to develop strategic direction for the Human Resource function.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, willingness to learn new things, and customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to counsel employees and management with tact and using the utmost discretion when handling confidential material.
  • Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills.
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, and dynamic.
  • Flexibility to managing diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities. Detail oriented.

Compensation is $80-90k depending on experience plus $30-40k bonus
